Actress Kangana Ranaut’s latest, ‘Thalaivii’, which was a biopic based on the life of actress-turned-politician J Jayalalithaa. Kangana herself essayed the role of Jaya, and her performance was widely acclaimed. Even though the movie could not hit theatres in Mumbai, the movie released a few days back on popular OTT platform, Netflix. Interestingly, Thalaivii is the most searched content on Netflix right now.
In her recent most post, Ranaut talked about the hard work that went in the movie. “Gaining 20 kgs in 6 months and loosing it all within 6 months that too in my thirties messed up many things in my body …. I also have permanent stretch marks as well but art comes to life with a price and more often than not price is the artist him/herself #thalaivii,” Kangana had shared.
However, she could not resist taking a dig at the so called Bollywood Mafia. Being as satirical as possible, she said that while their differences can be kept aside, it wouldn’t harm the Bollywood Mafia to appreciate her stellar performance in ‘Thalaivii’.
”Meanwhile waiting for Bollywood Mafia to keep our political and ideological differences aside just how I don’t find it difficult to appreciate genuine art may be they can also rise above petty human emotions and for once let art win #Thalaivii,” she wrote.
