Kareena Kapoor Khan, the diva of Bollywood, mother of Taimur Ali Khan celebrates her birthday today. She is easily one of the most stylish yummy mummies you’ll ever come across. On the occasion of Kareena’s birthday, we bring to you every detail you need to know about her love story with the royal prince Saif Ali Khan.

Kareena comes from a Punjabi Hindu family, while Saif grew up in a Muslim atmosphere. The love story of these two crossed all boundaries and their marriage broke the narrow prism of religion, culture and even age.

Earlier, in the Pataudi family, women had to convert into Islam to marry their husbands. Saif’s mother Sharmila did so, but Kareena chose not to go down the same route and her decision was backed by her doting beau. It is believed that Saif fell for Kareena while they were shooting the movie ‘Tashan’, a time when Kareena was coming to terms with her breakup with Shahid Kapoor.

Saif supported her in difficult times, then they eventually started dating in October 2007. They had an instant attraction, and soon it converted into love. Then Kareena and Saif decided to take the holy vows.

Five years and numerous wedding speculations later, the two got married on October 16, 2012. This star-studded affair lasted for an entire week. Earlier it was rumoured that they would do a Nikah, however, Saif and Kareena just exchanged vows at the Taj Mahal Hotel. There were no saath pheras and they did not follow any particular style of wedding. The marriage was more about breaking the stereotype.

Saifeena then held various ceremonies and eventually after the grand bash, Kareena was welcomed at the Ibrahim Palace, Saif’s abode. Recently, Kareena had revealed that she put forward a condition, before marrying Saif. The actress said, “Today I am a wife and all my life I will work and earn money and my husband will support. That is the only condition (on which) I married Saif.”

She shares a friend like bond with Saif’s children Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan. The family has welcomed little baby Taimur and all seems to have gone well despite their different cultural backgrounds. On a related note, we wish Kareena a very happy birthday!
