Irrfan Khan, Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar starrer film Karwaan released back on Friday, as the centre of the attraction of the film is undoubtedly Irrfan Khan and his dialogues. But, the film is not that much ruling the box office. On its fourth day, the film has earned Rs 8.10 crore and it seems weekend gave the makers a big relief.
According to Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the box office collection and wrote, “#Karwaan witnessed an upward trend on Sat and Sun, after a low Fri… Sustaining on weekdays important… Fri 1.60 cr, Sat 2.80 cr, Sun 3.70 cr. Total: ₹ 8.10 cr. India biz.”

As per the film critic Shubhra Gupta, “Karwaan is aiming for an easy, offhand charm, and we get that only in bits and pieces, especially when Irrfan hits his stride on occasion, or when Dulquer proves just how good he can be by not doing much at all: even the perky Palkar, who is the most done against when it comes to detailing, has a couple of effective scenes. The film started to grow on me only about two thirds of the way in, and there’s a moment when the trio is standing about, shooting the breeze, when it starts feeling lived in, when it all comes together. But that’s not enough. Not nearly.”
On the other hand, Dulquer Salmaan in a promotional spree with a bunch of female journalists spoke at length about his co-star Irrfan and said, “I don’t feel like we are promoting the same film. It feels like it is a love story that we two are promoting. Right now it just feels like a film with two debutantes. I mean if Irrfan sir was here, it would have added so much to the promotions. I genuinely miss him.”
