Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away at 92 today at a city hospital in Mumbai. The veteran singer died because of multiple-organ failure after her hospitalization post-COVID-19. Her sister Usha Mangeshkar confirmed the sad news. Also, her mortal remains to be taken to Shivaji Park. PM Narendra Modi took to her Twitter handle to mourn the loss of the legend.
Narendra Modi shared a picture with the veteran singer and penned a heartfelt tribute. PM tweeted, “I’m anguished beyond words. The kind and caring Lata Didi has left us….the coming generations will remember her as a stalwart of Indian culture.”

Known as the queen of melody, Lata Mangeshkar started training in singing at the age of 5 and began her career as a singer in 1942. The veteran singer has been credited to have sung 25,000 songs in as many as 36 Indian languages.
