The veteran singer, Lata Mangeshkar, left for her heavenly abode at 8.12 am on Sunday. Her contribution to the music contribution is irreplaceable. Her sister Usha Mangeshkar confirmed the sad news. Also, her mortal remains to be taken to Shivaji Park.
Dr. Pratit Samdani, who was treating the veteran singer at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, told ANI, the veteran singer has died because of multi-organ failure after more than 28 days of hospitalization post COVID-19.
As soon as the news broke, many celebrities of the film industry took to their respective social media handles to share mourn the loss of the legend.

Adding more details, the veteran singer was admitted to the hospital after being tested positive for the deadly virus earlier in January. The legendary singer was on the ventilator for weeks, but then on January 28, Lata Ji was taken off the ventilator as she showed signs of improvement. Unfortunately, again Lata Ji’s health condition has deteriorated and has been put back on the ventilator under the close observation of the doctors.
According to media reports, several high-profile personalities have visited the hospital to check on the veteran singer, such as Union Minister, Piyush Goyal, Filmmaker, Madhur Bhandarkar, and NCP leader, Supriya Sule.
Meanwhile, the legendary singer was the oldest of the siblings.
