In India the amount of content people consume way more content on TV than they do through Bollywood. That’s where the pressure of providing wider range of content to audience comes on the television show makers. Indian TV industry has always been buzzing with amazing content and talent. From drama and comedy to supernatural shows, there is something for everyone out there. However, some shows see an untimely ending. Here are some much-anticipated shows that had to be pulled off air.
1. Naagin 4
Naagin is one of the most popular TV shows of all time but the new season 4 had to go off-air due to the nationwide lockdown. It starred Mouni Roy, Arjun Bijlani, Adaa Khan and Sudha Chandran. It became one of the highest rated shows on Indian television.
Despite having a unique storyline, Vidya failed to ace the TRP list and the lockdown made it abruptly shut down. In the show, Vidya, an illiterate young army widow, is offered a compensatory job of teaching English in a small village school which gives her a chance to educate herself.
3. Dil Jaise Dhadke Dhadakne Do
The show’s storyline was something like, Iti, who misses her mother, is best friends with Yug, who leaves no stone unturned to bring a smile on her face. Mahesh Bhatt created TV show, Dil Jaise Dhadke Dhadakne Do, did not do well and failed to amaze audiences leading to it going off-air.
4. Beyhadh 2
After a successful season 1, Beyhadh 2 failed to grab attention in its new season thus leading to dropping TRPs making the show shut down. The storyline revolves around Maya Jaisingh, as she is left heartbroken when she is betrayed by the man she loves, MJ, she decides to avenge herself by destroying the one thing he holds dear, his family.
5. Nazar 2
Nazar is an Indian supernatural and thriller series which aired on Star Plus for two seasons. But, the supernatural show Nazar 2 too had to go off-air due to low TRPs.
6. Sanjivni 2
Sanjivani 2 did not do well as compared to its first season and thus the show had to go off-air.
