Lyca Productions calls off deal with Dharma Productions: Reports

There have been reports over Social Media and Internet about the deal between Bollywood big budget film producer Dharma Productions and Lyca Productions. Dharma and Lyca had worked on projects starring Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 directed by Shankar, the film was brought into Bollywood by Dharma Productions. Karan Johar have healthy ties with the Fox Studios and have collaborated on multiple projects. Fox Studios is now owned by Walt Disney and they have shown red lights to new production from India.

Meanwhile Karan Johar was looking for a partner in Dharma Productions and this was when he approached Lyca Productions for a partnership. Karan Johar had aslo approached the Adani group for 30% of Dharma’s stakes. Now according to media reports the deal between Dharma Productions and Lyca Productions have been dropped by Lyca, no one knows the specific reason for the happenings.

Dharma Productions upcoming ‘Brahmastra’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead is backed up by Fox-Disney. This is supposed to be the last film in collaboration for now.

“Karan Johar is one of the most successful filmmakers at present. Most of his films work big time. I am sure he’ll soon get a partner and that’ll ease his woes to a great extent.” says an insider while talking to Bollywood Hungama.
