Actor R Madhavan recently opened up about the possibility of him reprising the role of Manu in his popular film franchise, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ which also stars Kangana Ranaut, should it ever be made.
While engaging in a conversation with a popular YouTuber, Madhavan said that the idea of him starring in yet another instalment of ‘Tanu weds Manu’ seemed pointless to him, in his opinion. Further, the actor added that it is very difficult to come up with original stuff and as then people begin to have expectations from the film. According to him, if it’s a sequel to Avengers or a superhero series, it’s easier because you have a back story and plot to rely on. But with ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, it’s impossible. Madhavan also added that he is done with ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and has ceased to have any plans of going back to being Manu again.
In another interview, Madhavan had also opened up about the possible remake of his immensely popular film, ‘Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein’, which also starred actor Saif Ali Khan. According to him, it’s foolish to remake a classic that the film is and he wouldn’t want to touch it as a producer.
His film, ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ hits the theatres today, i.e. 1st July. The film marks the directorial debut of the actor. He will also be seen essaying the titular role of Nambi Narayanan, former scientist and aerospace engineer in the film. The movie also features cameos by Surya and Shah Rukh Khan.
