Israeli swimmers’ recent performance in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics is proof that several foreigners follow Bollywood.

On Tuesday, the Israeli team of Eden Blecher and Shelly Bobritsky competed in the Artistic Swimming Duet Free Routine Preliminary and the duo performed a part of it to the song ‘Aaja Nachle’ of Madhuri Dixit from the film with the same name.

A video of the duo performing to the Bollywood song has been circulating on the internet and the Israeli team were receiving praises from the fans of India for including an element of Bollywood in the Olympics.

Taking it to the Twitter handle, one of the users wrote “Nach le Nach le …used by team Israel for #ArtisticSwimming at #Olympics2020 @MadhuriDixit #BollywoodInspiredOlympians #AajaNachle” while another tweeted “Entry of Bollywood in #TokyoOlympics and as usual there’s some different level of energy in our Indian songs”.

Eden and Shelly, the Israeli team, were competing for a spot in the final of the women’s duet technical routine event at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre but the duo was unable to qualify for the summit clash.

According to the official Olympics website, the participants are given scores based on their synchronisation, technique, difficulty and choreography.
