Kangana Ranaut took the responsibility of showcasing the story of the most fierce woman, Jhansi Ki Rani, Laxmi Bai. She was the only woman from India who made the history with the path she chooses of being a great leader. Kangana had said, this movie is more of action than drama. Well, she lives up to our hype.
Today, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi hit the theatres and here’s the review!
Starting with the cinematography, the scenes are breathtaking and the voiceover for the narration by Amitabh Bachchan is enough. Kangana Ranaut did justice with her role of the most iconic women in Indian history. Even debutant Ankita Lokhande has proven herself enough as Jhalkari Bai and they both are flawless with action sequences including all other women in the background.
Kangana’s overtone grasp of Rani Laxmi Bai will win your heart. And moreover its nothing like before.
This movie also stars Atul Kulkarni as Tantia Tope, Jisshu Sengupta, who played Maharaja Gangadhar Rao and Rani Laxmi Bai’s husband, was more than just impressive. Suresh Oberoi as Bajirao II and Kulbhushan Kharbanda play their part incredibly.
Danny Denzongpa as Ghulam Muhammad Ghouse Khan is shinning like a star in the movie. The music and the songs of the movie are refreshing despite being patriotic.
However, some weakness in the movie is that the antagonist seems weeks and the last segment of the movie is a bit disturbing as the flow of the action broke.
Manikarnika is getting praises from the fans and the critics for Kangana’s exceptional performance as Jhansi Ki Rani. The film is expected to make good numbers. Manikarnika released along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Thackeray. Let’s wait and watch which movie wins the box office race.
Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi deserves 3.5 stars.
