Google Maps offers all the usual features of the Google service. It also adds a GPS feature service which makes it impossible to get lost in a big city. It is the most reliable app used by almost all the netizens of the country. Most of the time the directions given by the maps are accurate, whereas there are times when it can take you to a long ride with some round direction.
The same happened with Bruce, an Australian who was using this app and followed the directions shown on the Google maps to reduce his commute time by 15 minutes and ended up going on a 2-hour long road trip. Bruce shared the pictures from his journey on Imgur.
Bruce was going to meet his friends for a camping adventure. He used google maps and found a shorter. The route for his journey. And he decided to follow the shorter route to reach as soon as possible.
But there was something else stored for him. Google maps took him to the road that hadn’t been traveled for a while. Later when he realized that taking this route might not be a good idea. But it was too late to turn back.
Bruce said, “I realized I might have bitten off more than I could chew due to the fact there was very limited space to turn around… so I kept going anyway. I had about 1000 km of diesel (550 miles) left, a tent, a CB UHF radio and enough water and beer to survive a night. Cell access is available from the top of some hills.”
Passing through the terrain, he reached the Blue Mountains in New South Wales in Australia. Check out these pictures that were clicked during the journey.
Bruce further said, “About 500 m road leading down a mountain… These drops are each heavily rutted. No problems. But I did realize that after thus it could be troublesome going back… so onwards.”
Bruce kept following the directions until he reached across some beautiful rainforests. It took a couple of hours to reach his campsite where the adventurous journey ended, he had not intended to take.
