Manushi Chhillar on Raksha Bandhan: It was never about gender and how the man has to protect the women

The festival of brothers and sisters relationship is finally here. The whole nation is celebrating Raksha Bandhan today. As per the festival, the Sisters ties a Rakhi on the wrist of her brothers who promises them to protect for lifetime. Speaking about the same, Manushi Chhillar stated that the Raksha Bandhan is all about the time we spend with our family together. Scroll down to know more what she said.

Manushi Chhillar reveals that her parents, Mitra Basu Chhillar and Neelam Basu Chhillar, have never told us that Raksha Bandhan is about women seeking protection from the brother. Manushi has one younger sister ‘Dewangana’ and a brother ‘Dalmitra’.

Soon to be a bollywood actress, Manushi Chhillar says that she and her sister Dewangana were never told by their parents that women needs protection and thus are weak. Manushi says that they told us that the festival is all about vowing to be beside each other through ups and downs. It was never about gender and how the man has to protect the women.

The Miss World 2018 winner went on saying that Raksha Bandhan is a festival when they all keeps their calendar free to just hang and chill and to spend time together with their family. She has also credited her parents for teaching them the right values which helped them to get into the shape of forward thinking individuals.

On the work front, Manushi will be debuting soon in Bollywood with Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj. She has also wrapped up the shoot of another film with Vicky Kaushal under the banner on YashRaj Films.
