The media was in a frenzy as superstar Shah Rukh Khan was spotted at Arthur Road jail as he had come to visit his son Aryan Khan after the verdict was passed on 20th October where his bail plea was rejected.

Khan Sr barely got 18 minutes to meet Aryan, and the latter was rather woebegone at the sight of his father.  Also, due to the COVID-19, the visitors have been restricted from having any physical contact with the jail inmates and thus, Khan met Aryan through a glass wall and talked to him through an intercom.

As Shah Rukh left, he was once again surrounded by the media personnel. Members of the Bollywood fraternity slammed the media for their insensitivity. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta, who seems to be following the case closely, wrote, “Being a celebrity, being a star, being from ‘Bollywood’ means your emotion, your torment and your concern as a father become a matter of public consumption, heartless abuse and ruthless judgement.”

Khan’s co-star from ‘Happy New Year’, actor Sonu Sood also called out the media for their behaviour. He wrote in Hindi, “Before running after someone’s feelings with a camera, remember, God’s camera is sitting on you. Because not every news is news.”
