Many people have created fake accounts on social media platforms either to defame the image of the actor or to cheat people by impersonating actors. According to the latest reports, a similar incident has happened as an unidentified person created an fake account on social media of the filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani’s son asking the aspiring actors to contact him for the next movie that the director will be working on. According to the reports of Indian Express, a FIR has been registered against the imposter at the Andheri police station.
FIR has been registered under sections 66C and 66D of the IT Act as reported. The police officials are currently looking into the case and the motives behind his act. Reportedly, on July 2, the information about the fake account was received by an aspirant actor to the Hirani’s company through an email.
The official told that “The imposter, who claimed he was Kabir Hirani, had given out an advertisement saying there is an urgent requirement for roles in an upcoming movie named ‘3 Teenage’ being made by Rajkumar Hirani, adding those interested can contact him on the same Instagram profile. The fraudster also claimed that the makers would offer Rs 20 crore to the actor selected for the role”.
The company got another email on July 6 from a different aspiring actor. The official added that, “The accused had even tagged Hirani on Instagram and had also shared the company’s address on the picture-sharing app to mislead struggling actors”.
The officials of Hirani’s company registered a complaint in the police station after receiving the second complaint.
