Nirav Modi, the fleeing diamond merchant, will be the subject of a web series.
Nirav is wanted in India for allegedly cheating the Punjab National Bank (PNB) of $2 billion. He was arrested in March of this year and is being imprisoned at Wandsworth Prison in south London.
Now, Abundantia Entertainment has bought the rights to a journalist’s book, ‘Flawed: The Rise and Fall of India’s Diamond Mogul Nirav Modi,’ which will be converted into a multi-season dramatised series.
According to a statement, scripting is currently underway, and the project is attracting a diverse group of creative talent.
“It is an extremely exciting opportunity, and I am pleased to be a part of this book-to-screen adaptation adventure,” Pavan C. Lall said of lending rights to his novel for the digital series.
He added the statement that “Capturing the sensibility of a book in a cinematic fashion is no easy undertaking, but I have entire faith in Abundantia Entertainment and am confident that they will do this endeavour right and give Flawed the visual treatment it deserves. Flawed: The Rise… is my attempt to tell the storey of a larger-than-life entrepreneur, his explosive growth and equally meteoric fall that brought an entire industry to its knees.”
