Popular Bollywood stars Rajkummar Rao and Pyar Ka Punchnama Fame Nushrat Bharucha are all set to reunite again on the big screen. The duo previously starred together in LSD in the year 2010. And now, after 8 years, Nushrat and Rajkummar will be seen together in Hansal Mehta’s next film which is titled, Turram Khan.
Turram Khan will be a social comedy film based in a small town of Uttar Pradesh. Rajkummar and Hansal Mehta’s bond dates back for many years. The talented actor-director duo has previously worked in films like Omerta and Aligarh which were films related to some serious issues. This is the first time Rao and Mehta will be teaming up for a light-hearted flick.
Rajkummar recently did a film called Fanney Khan where he romanced Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. For those who are not aware, Fanney Khan and Turram Khan are often mentioned together in many parts of India. While the former is an imaginary character, the latter derived from Turrebaz Khan, a revolutionary who revolted against the ruling design of the 4th Nizam of Hyderabad and the British.
Talking about Turram Khan, Hansal Mehta said, “I am delighted to be collaborating with Luv on this comedy. It is a new chapter in my filmography with Raj (Rajkummar), whose success I see as a vindication of my belief in him. It is also wonderful to be working with Nushrat, whose work I’ve followed and liked immensely in the past. This is my first out-and-out comedy and it is like making my debut all over again.”
The Stree actor said, “Turram Khan is a comedy that the audience will take back home. Hansal sir has played an instrumental role in my career. He has created some interesting and memorable characters for me, and I trust him blindly. Also, I have known Nushrat since our days of attending auditions and screen tests. So, I am sure that this is going to be a fun collaboration.”
So we are really excited to see an impeccable collaboration of Rao and Mehta. Turram Khan will be produced by Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan, and Ankur Garg and will start rolling in November this year.
