After a long hunt, the makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah have found a new face for Sonu’s character. Palak Sidhwani has been finalised to play the part that was earlier essayed by Nidhi Bhanushali. The actress who earlier helmed the character of Sonu decided to call time on her part in the show in February.

After all these months, the makers have finally found her replacement and their search ends with Palak Sidhwani. Apart from Palak, even Jinal Jain was in the running to become the new Sonu. Now, a source has revealed that Palak has won the race. She is a newbie and has been part of many ads and short films in the past.

A source from the sets exclusively told us that Palak has already begun shooting from yesterday. For those who don’t know, here’s how Nidhi’s exit from the show was planned. So, the makers depicted that her character is leaving India for higher studies and now we hear that she will be back in Gokuldham Society, obviously with a new face as the replacement.

When Nidhi quit the show, a source close to her had revealed to us, “She is pursuing her BA from Mithibai College (Mumbai) and is quite a studious person. Now she wants to shape her career with education and wants to devote more time to finish her graduation.”

The source further added, “Although, the production house is contemplating on the matter by giving her more time to study and less shoot hours. Yet, it is becoming difficult for the actress to manage work and studies together. Hence, she is quitting the show.”

Now, with Palak Sidhwani entering the show as Sonu, let’s see how quickly she manages to create a place in the hearts of viewers.
