He continued, “I respected him a lot as a human being. He was the father of my most favourite actor, Ranbir Kapoor, such a fine talent of the Kapoor family. To do his role, to carry it forward was a responsibility. I knew I had to approach it with a lot of elegance. One can’t take it for granted”.
Paresh Rawal and Rishi Kapoor have worked together in movies including ‘Damini’, ‘Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi’ and ‘Hathyar’. The film, ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ also stars Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Gufi Paintal and Satish Kaushik amongst other actors.
Rawal told that “He is no more but it’s a huge loss for the audience because the film’s script is absolutely brilliant. I read a script as good as this after a long time.
