After much debate from opposition regarding the release date of PM Narendra Modi’s biopic finally has a release date. Vivek Oberoi’s ‘PM Narendra Modi’ is all set to hit the theatres on April 11. This after, the opposition alleged to the Election Commission that the movie violated the model code of conduct, however, the movie’s fate has been sealed and the EC has given a clean chit to the biopic.

PM Narendra Modi’s producer Sandip Ssingh confirmed this news on his Twitter handle after he wrote, “‘PM Narendra Modi’ is Officially releasing on 11th April 2019.”

Earlier the Deputy Election Commissioner Sandeep Saxena while addressing the media said the apex polling body had received responses from both the movie’s producers and the Bhartiya Janta Party. He said, “We issued notices to the producers and we have received their responses. We had also sought comments from the BJP General Secretary and have received their response as well.”

“Now the file is under examination and the matter is listed for Friday… We will take the final call tomorrow,” he further added.

The Indian National Congress had earlier urged the EC to stop the release of PM Narendra Modi’s biopic on grounds that it violated the model code of conduct and that it was deliberately trying to turn the audience in BJP’s favor with the movie’s release just before the 2019 elections. However, it seems after the latest breakthrough, the EC is set to turn down Congress’s appeal.

The movie, which is based on Narendra Modi’s life, portraying his journey from humble beginnings to becoming the Prime Minister of India. The film which was originally scheduled to release on 5th April has been directed by Omung Kumar.
