Bollywood actor and producer Rimi Sen is among the popular divas and she is popularly known for her performances in evergreen comic movies like Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, Phir Hera Pheri, Hungama, Thank You, and many more. Rimi finished her graduation in commerce from the University of Calcutta and she always had a dream of becoming an actress. Once in an interview, she said that it was her childhood dream to be an actor and work with stars. Rimi also revealed that she was fascinated by the industry.
She first came to Mumbai with her mother as she had to convince her mother a lot to come with her to the ‘city of dreams’. But convincing her family members for becoming an actor was not easy for her. Rimi once revealed that it was only her grandfather who was truly supportive of her choice. Her decision for coming to Mumbai was right as she soon started getting advertisements.
Rimi is a professional Odissi dancer and she has also participated in many big dance competitions. She had also done an Ad with Aamir Khan and after that, there was no looking back for her. She made her debut in the year 2002 with a Telugu movie ‘Nee Thodu Kavali’.
Talking about her Bollywood debut, it was a successful one for her. Rimi’s first movie was Hungama which was released in the year 2003. She also got 2 awards for her debut movie. After doing a short cameo in Dhoom 2, she did many movies but they were not that successful.
Rimi again changed her name to Subhamitra after she started her production house. She co-produced Budhia Singh – Born to Run under her production house and won three awards for this movie. Rimi also participated in Bigg Boss season 9 and stayed in the house for almost seven weeks.
In the year 2017, Rimi joined BJP and in an interview, Rimi once said that she is highly influenced by the work of PM Modi.
