Zomato seems to have a knack for getting into trouble. It’s new commercials, featuring both Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif in individual ads, received a lot of criticism. People accused the food delivery giant of trying to gloss over the not-so-great conditions of their employees. Many thought that this was Zomato’s plot, where they’d showcased their delivery executives as heroes rather than looking at the real situation in hand.
There was for only so long that Zomato could be quiet. It decided to issue a clarification, explaining their take on the commercials. In the big statement that they issued on Twitter, they gave a detailed explanation of how people may have misinterpreted the commercials.

In the commercial featuring Hrithik, the delivery guy refuses a selfie request from him, saying he might get late delivering the next order. Also, in the commercial featuring Katrina, the delivery boy says no to a piece of cake for her, citing similar reasons.
Zomato attempted at e-learning the air, saying that the commercials were a way of showing people to be polite with the delivery executives and that no customer was any less than a celebrity, in this case, Hrithik and Katrina.
The response of people to their commercials has sure instilled the message that Zomato will need to think twice before making an ad.
