It’s Raining Biopics, Now Ajay Devgn Will Play Chanakya In Neeraj Pandey’s Next

Bollywood’s every director and actor is now looking forward to making a film based on someone’s life and it seems it is raining biopics in Bollywood. After, the superhit Sanjay Dutt’s biopic starrer Ranbir Kapoor, now, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn, who was last seen in Raid will now play Chanakya in a film directed by Neeraj Pandey.

However, there are so many biopics in pipeline like Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30, Shraddha Kapoor’s Saina Nehwal biopic, Paresh Rawal’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s biopic,
Harshvardhan Kapoor in Abhinav Bindra biopic, and Kangana Ranaut in ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’

The ‘Raid’ actor took to micro-blogging site Twitter to declare that he will be doing a film directed by Neeraj Pandey and produced by Reliance Entertainment among others. This film will be a biopic based on Chanakya. Chanakya has been one of the greatest thinkers in Indian History. He played a major role in building the Chandragupta Maurya administration and is credited to have written epic books like Chanakya Niti and Arthshashtra.

Ajay wrote on Twitter, “Looking forward to playing #Chanakya, a film about one of the greatest thinkers in Indian History, directed by @neerajpofficial. @RelianceEnt @FFW_Official @PlanC_Studios @ShitalBhatiaFFW”

Director Neeraj Pandey said in a press statement, “I have been developing this film on Chanakya for some time now. It is an exciting work of passion for me, and I am sure audiences will love Ajay’s portrayal of the visionary genius.”

“I am truly looking forward to playing Chanakya. I have observed Neeraj Pandey’s work closely and I know Neeraj will tell this story with the clarity and passion that it needs to be told,” Ajay added.

On the professional front, Ajay Devgn will be also seen in Total Dhamaal starter with Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit among others.
