One of the legendary films in Bollywood is Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1975 film ‘Chupke Chupke’. It is considered to be the best film of its genre i.e comedy. The epic comic film starred Dharmendra in the lead with Amitabh Bachchan and Om Prakash in supporting roles. Sharmila Tagore was the female lead in the film, while Jaya Bachchan was paired alongside Amitabh Bachchan. Asrani too played a pivotal role in the movie. It is considered to be the best of its time and even today it is as fun to watch as it was then.
Rumors in B’town are stating that producer Bhushan Kumar is planning to do a remake of the film and has teamed up with filmmaker Luv Rajan. A report from Mumbai Mirror has confirmed that the makers have already made their choice for the lead role and it is none other than everyone’s favorite Raj Kummar Rao. Raj Kummar Rao will be seen playing the role that Dharmendra played in the epic comedy. “Chupke Chupke is an iconic film and a favorite of many, including Rajkummar. He loved the idea of a remake and has agreed to come on board. It will have Raj in the dual avatars. The script is still being finalized, while the director and the rest of the cast are yet to be locked but the team is really excited about this one,” – a source told Mumbai Mirror.
‘Chupke Chupke’ is the second most talked about film in the industry for a remake. Earlier this year, it was announced that another ‘70s comedy ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ is also being remade and Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday are part of the leading casts for the roles of Sanjeev Kapoor, Vidya Sinha, and Ranjeeta Kaur. The movie will come out on 6th December this year. On the other hand, the fans still have to wait for ‘Chupke Chupke’ to come out.
