Raj Kundra’s ongoing case: Mumbai Police hands over the FIR in the case to Enforcement Directorate

Raj Kundra appeared before a Mumbai court on Tuesday and has been sent to the police custody for 14 days till August 10. Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19 by the Mumbai police with 11 other people on charges relating to alleged creation and streaming of pornographic contents through mobile apps.

Abad Ponda, Raj’s lawyer, has told that the bail application of Raj will be heard before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday (July 28).

The FIR in the case has been handed over to Enforcement Directorate by the Mumbai Police. They were planning to collect documents relating to the case on July 27, yesterday, but they have yet to file an FIR in the case.

The crime branch has also enrolled a financial auditor to investigate on Raj and Shilpa Shetty’s money trail and their alleged involvement in the adult film racket case.

According to the sources, “In the investigation, the Crime Branch has found transactions worth crores were done from the joint account of Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra. The Crime Branch suspects that the earnings from ‘Hotshots’ and ‘Bolly Fame’ app used to come into this account”. They also added that the police are investigating whether the money earned through the apps are invested in bitcoins.

Police officials, on Sunday, has informed that four employees of Raj had turned witnesses against him in the alleged pornography-related case. The Mumbai police has identified Raj Kundra as the ‘key conspirator’ and he has been booked under Sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) besides relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
