The much-awaited trailer of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 was released this afternoon. Well, the minute the trailer hit the internet, it went viral. Tweeps went all crazy seeing Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in a never-seen-before avatar. However, as per my review, the trailer did not impress us as the story was not a unique one, in fact, there was nothing special. The teaser which released in September also disappointed many fans as they did not get to see more of Akshay Kumar in it.
But what was a major highlight was the film’s mind-blowing VFX which will give viewers a cinematic experience. Rajini Sir as Chitti and Akshay as Dr Richard is all set to rule the box-office.
Since the time the film was in making, a lot has been spoken but it’s budget as the makers have spent a whopping amount on the VFX which makes this film one of the most expensive films ever made in Indian Cinema.
During the trailer launch which happened today in Chennai, Rajnikanth and Akshay revealed some interesting facts about the film. One such revelation Rajni took us by surprise and you will be surprised to hear the actual amount invested in S.Shankar’s 2.0.
Earlier, there were reports that the producers had increased the budget of the film from Rs 300 crore to around Rs 500 crore. However, putting all the speculations to rest, Rajini sir revealed the exact budget of the film and it has left all of us surprised. The South superstar revealed that producer Subhaskaran invested a whopping Rs 600 crores. No, we are not kidding.
“Take my words, 2.0 will be a super hit. I’d like to congratulate producer Subhaskaran and director Shankar. Subhaskaran invested 600 cr trusting only director Shankar.” (sic)
Rajini Sir was all praises for the film’s director Shankar and his co-star Akshay. He said, “I met Akki in Delhi for the first time. He was wearing a heavy body suit and I was shocked. Hats off to Akshay Kumar for doing this character… It took him a lot, 4 to 4 1/2 hours to get into the costume, he did it effortlessly.”
2.0 will hit the silver screens on 29th November.
