Actor Randeep Hooda is one of the few actors who can be called versatile. Although he doesn’t appear in movies every now and then, the movies he appears in, and his acting always makes a mark. Hooda was last seen in action flick Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, alongside Salman Khan and Disha Patani

Currently, he has been working on the biopic of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, fondly and commonly known as Veer Savarkar. On the occasion of the late freedom fighter’s 139th birth anniversary, Hooda decided to unveil his first look as Savarkar.

The ‘Love Aaj Kal’ actor took to his Twitter handle to post his first look. The poster features Hooda bearing an uncanny resemblance to the freedom fighter, as he sports a cap, round-rimmed glasses, and mustache. The text on the poster reads, ‘Hindutva Dharm Nahin, Itihaas Hai.’ A rough translation of this would be that Hinduism isn’t a religion but a history in itself.

In the caption, Hooda talks about how he is proud to have bagged the role and at the same time, hopeful that he is worthy enough to represent the freedom fighter. “I hope I can live up to the challenge of filling such big shoes of a true revolutionary and tell his real story which had been brushed under the carpet for so long.. Wishing you all a very Happy #VeerSavarkarJayanti!” a part of his tweet read.

The film is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and will go on floors in August 2022.
