Salman Khan’s latest release Race 3 was a hit at the box office and became one of the highest grossing films of 2018 and of all times. However, despite being a commercial success, the film was severely criticized by audience and critics. And now the film’s director Remo D’Souza has also admitted that he is not happy with the film. He said that the film has failed to make his creative mind happy.
Remo said, “I learnt two very important things after that film (‘Race 3)‘. Firstly, never work on a half-baked script, work on the script much harder before you roll the camera. And secondly, I have learnt to put my foot down when it’s needed, especially when creative difference happens. One can argue till one level, but not after that… So then, it’s better to put my foot down.”
He said that his heart broke when the film was badly trolled on the Internet. He said, “Looking at the commercial success, I should be feeling happy, isn’t it? Because when I signed the film, I knew that it is a commercial film, so a good box office collection is all the project aimed for. But my heart broke when the film faced trolls and audience made fun of it on the Internet.”
He admitted that he is affected by the trolls,”I am a creative person. I am emotional and sensitive. I cannot take those trolls so sportingly to say ‘I don’t care’. I do care, of course, those trolls affected my mind.”
Remo started his career as a choreographer in the year 1995 and made his directorial debut in 2011 with the film ABCD that was based on Dance. he then directed ABCD 2, Flying Jatt and now Race 3. He has choreographed several hit songs like Badtameez Dil, Deewani Mastaani etc.
He is currently gearing up for the new season of dance reality show Dance Plus. It will air on Star Plus from Sep 21.
