Revealed: Ranveer Singh became an actor only because he got rejected in a cricket trial

One of the most talented actors of Bollywood, Ranveer Singh has tasted success in his professional life with his larger than life films and an immense amount of love from the audience that currently no other actor enjoys. The highly contagious packet of energy never fails to grab all the attention towards him.

The actor we see today wouldn’t have been there if he was rejected from cricket. We all know Ranveer Singh is a huge fan of cricket but prior to becoming an actor, he wanted to play the sport professionally.

As a child, Ranveer always wanted to become a professional cricketer and was also trained at the Bombay Gymkhana Club. However, Ranveer couldn’t succeed in cricket. He was once rejected by the 1983 World Cup winning cricketer Mohinder Amarnath. Ranveer had later confessed that the ex-cricketer did the right thing by rejecting him or else he wouldn’t have been an actor today.

Ranveer Singh is all set to play the 1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev in the upcoming film ’83’. The film is directed by Kabir Khan. Deepika will play Kabir’s wife Rumi Dev.

The film is a biopic on the life of Kapil Dev and will showcase the journey of India’s first cricket World Cup victory of 1983 at the Lord’s stadium in the UK. The film also stars various other actors like Tahir Raj Bhasin, Hardy Sandhu, Sahil Khatter, Ammy Virk, Pankaj Tripathi and more.
