Sachin Tendulkar roped in for Muttiah Muralitharan biopic starring Vijay Sethupathi: Report

The biopic on the internationally renowned cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan is currently in the making and the film has created huge buzz as Vijay Sethupathi will play the lead. The film has been in the news since its inception and according to latest about, Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar might be a part of a biopic on Muttiah Muralitharan.

According to media reports, cricket legend Sachin might play a cameo in the film. However, no official announcement on the same has been made yet.

As Sachin and Sri Lankan shared a good bonding and some on-field moments of them can be a part of the film. Well, if Sachin is a part of the film, it is sure to create huge excitement and a surprise treat for the former cricketer’s fans.

Muttiah Muralitharan himself will work alongside Vijay Sethupathi to shape the film, and now, it is rumoured that cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar might play a cameo in the film.

Meanwhile, Baahubali star Rana Daggubati has come on board to produce the film. Yes, the actor turned producer for the film. “Suresh Productions and I to be associated with Dar films in telling the story of a legend thru a legendary actor. Vijay Sethupathi as Muttiah Muralitharan coming soon,” said Rana. Reportedly, the biopic has been tentatively titled, 800.

The film is directed by M.S Sripathy and produced by Suresh Productions and co-produced by DAR Media Pvt LTD. Interestingly Rana And Suresh Productions have been known to back interesting content-driven films.

The other details of the film are kept under wraps. It is rumoured that the project is titled 800, which signifies the number of international Test wickets taken by the spin bowler. The film will be made in multiple languages.

Speaking about the film, Vijay Sethupathi said, “I thank Muralitharan and the producers for trusting me with the project.” The film might hit the screens towards the end of next year.
