Saif Ali Khan To Reunite With Ajay Devgn For Taanaji After 12 Years

Saif Ali Khan has bagged another interesting project in his kitty. The actor after doing some heroic roles in his long filmy career has played roles with grey shades also. And now, again Saif has bagged a role in one of the most anticipated films. Yes, we are talking about Taanji where Ajay Devgn plays the titular role.

Well, what’s more interesting is that the movie will mark the reunion of Saif and Ajay after the gap of 12 years. The duo was last seen in the film Omkara where he was seen in a grey shade character. Interestingly, Ajay romanced Saif’s now wife Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Talking about their upcoming film, it is titled Taanaji neither had Saif nor had Ajay revealed any details about their project. However, now, Saif got candid about it and revealed many interesting details about the film and his character.

Saif will be playing the anti-hero in the film. During his recent media interaction, the Chef star said, “I respect Ajay and like the way, he looks at life. I’m happy to be a part of this huge historical which will be a screen extravaganza, a post- Baahubali kind of experience in 3D. Ajay loves cinema, is a great producer, and this is the right film to make today as it highlights patriotism and heroism. Kids will love it, so will the rest of the country.”

Saif further said, “Let’s just call him an anti-hero. It’s a cool part and I’ve already started shooting.” Taanaji- The Unsung Warrior is based on the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670, which was fought between Tanaji Malusare, a commander in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s army, and Udaybhan. The first poster of the film was unveiled by Ajay, a year back, on his social media handle. He had tweeted, “He fought for his People, his Soil & his King Chhatrapati Shivaji. The unsung warrior of glorious Indian history, Subedar Taanaji Malusare.”
