Former actress Saira Banu has been having a difficult time after the demise of her husband, veteran actor Dilip Kumar. Only a few days ago, she was admitted to Hinduja hospital by the members of her family after she felt difficulty in breathing. When asked about angiography, a source close to the family said that nothing concrete is decided as of now. They are in no haste and that they shall take a decision based on Banu’s condition in 4-5 days.
Dilip Saab’s passing away seems to have taken a toll on Saira Banu, quite evidently. She had spent a major portion of her life with him, ever since being married to him at the age of 22.
According to cardiologist Dr Nitin Gokhale, the left ventricle in her heart has ceased working, leading to the logging of excessive water in her heart and lungs. However, she’s been attended to and everything is under control now. She is out of danger and that will be shifted out of ICU. Further measures, as the doctor put it, will be decided post that.
Saira Banu was quite the leading back in the 60s and 70s era, having worked with all the top actors at that time. She’d carved quite a reputation, making her debut in 1961 with the film ‘Junglee’, when she was just a teen.
