Sallu was talking to various media reporters when one of them questioned him to share his viewpoint regarding the continuing agriculturalists’ protest. In his response, the ace star stated, “The right thing should be done. The right thing should be done. The most correct thing should be done. The most noble thing should be done.”

Before this, the actor had neither shared any kind of tweet nor given his opinion with regard to the ongoing protest on any of the public platforms. No other film stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan or Saif Ali Khan have talked about the same or shared their views on the public domain thus far.

From the month of November 2020, hordes of agriculturalists from the states of Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh have been complaining at the national capital’s borders. They want the administration to rollback three new farm rules – Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020. The agriculturalists want these commandments to be canceled as they are of the view that these acts will leave them in the pity of big biz houses.

The agriculturalists’ remonstration got global attention when celebrated pop-singer Rihanna and climate-activist Greta Thunberg tweeted in favor of the protest. “Why aren’t we talking about this #FarmersProtest (sic),” Rihanna’s tweet read. Greta Thunberg also showed her support for the ongoing protest with a tweet, which read, “We stand in solidarity with the #FarmersProtest in India (sic).”
