Salman Khan took part in the Green India Challenge here on Wednesday by planting a seedling and encouraging his fans to do the same to protect the natural environment.

Salman planted a seedling in Ramoji Film City, where he was filming his new film, “Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali.”

Santosh Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP and Green India Founder, and his film team joined him.

The actor praised the MP for taking on the assignment. “Planting trees is a great idea. I’m not sure why people are interested in chopping down trees. When a man stops growing, it is believed that he should plant a tree. A man is a walking tree, and a tree is a stationary man. This relationship is really vital, “Salman said.

He emphasized the necessity of plantation by saying, “wherever you have trees, you will have water”.

Salman stated that everyone should take responsibility for the plantation initiative and care for the seedlings till they mature into large trees. It is unfortunate that human loss due to natural disasters, such as severe rains and floods, is tremendous, he said, adding that the best way to reduce human loss is to promote vast plantations.

Santosh Kumar praised the Bollywood actor for agreeing to participate in the Green India Challenge. He believes Salman’s attempt to plant seedlings will inspire millions of his supporters.
