Salman Khan steps up to distribute food kits to the frontline staff in Mumbai

As the country suffers from an increase in COVID-19 cases, Bollywood star Salman Khan has once again volunteered to do his little bit by providing food to frontline workers through food trucks!

Actor, Salman Khan who is well-known for his charitable contributions towards the society and the country’s underprivileged population, has once again touched the hearts of fans through his food distribution drive, for the poor, by food trucks ‘Being Haangryy’ during the 2020 COVID 19 lockdown. Salman contributed in the same way, in Mumbai last year. The superstar used his social media account to encourage others to wear masks and observe COVID 19 protocols.

According to recent news, owing to the second COVID 19 surge, the actor has resurrected the food trucks for frontline employees and is supplying food kits to them. In an interview with Mid-Day, Yuva Sena chief Rahul Kanal said that the actor was eager to assist police officers, BMC employees, and health workers during the COVID-19 second wave. He was also worried about how frontline staff can obtain products from grocery stores, which are only open for four hours due to an increase in COVID 19 cases, and as a result, the star agreed to resurrect his food vans in order to provide food packages to frontline staff.

He said, “Our kits include tea, mineral water, a pack of biscuits, and snacks that include upma or poha or vada pav or pav bhaji. We have also started a helpline number on which the frontline workers can call, and we’ll travel to their area to serve them. It is Salman’s way of thanking them for their sustained efforts. This will go on till May 15.” He also mentioned that the food trucks have supplied food kits between Worli and Juhu in the last two days, intend to expand the service to other parts of Mumbai in the next three weeks.

On Twitter, Yuva Sena wrote, “Thank You @BeingSalmanKhan ji @Iamrahulkunal ji @IMumbaiFoundat1 #BeingHaangryy for the initiative and being there for our frontline warriors.

On the professional front, Salman is expected to release Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai on May 13, 2021. The actor is said to have adopted a special release pattern in light of the COVID 19 situation in many locations. Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda, and Jackie Shroff will also star in the film whose trailer will be out today.
