Sanjay Kapoor, who has been the epitome of playing mature characters in movies recently opened up about his life, his daughter’s career and about various other things in an interview with a leading news agency.
Speaking about the kind of roles he’s played over the course of his career Sanjay said, “You can’t be a hero all your life. Everyone has to go through this transition phase where you have to do character roles. The idea is your role should have an impact, it should be pivotal to the story.”
He further added, “I feel more secure today. I have diversified as an actor. I am getting to play roles as an actor now. I am grateful for the opportunities, be it from films or on the web.”
In his career, Sanjay has been part of various successful films such as Raja, Auzaar, Mohabbat, Sirf Tum and more recently, Mission Mangal and The Zoya Factor. In the film Mission Mangal, Sanjay was part of an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Singa, Vidya Balan and more.
The movie was a big success, however, his other film, featuring his niece Sonam Kapoor has not done that well at the Box Office. Sanjay was also quizzed about the Bollywood career of his daughter Shanaya, who is taking baby steps in the industry. She can be seen taking dance classes these days, while she has started working as an assistant director in Gunjan Saxena biopic, a film that has her cousin Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role.
Speaking about Shanaya, Sanjay said, “She is learning the ropes. She is taking her acting, dance and diction classes. In our family, she has watched me, her uncle and cousins closely. She knows hard work matters. You can be anybody’s daughter or niece but it is going to be your dedication that will take you ahead.”
