Admit it or not, Bollywood plays a big role in helping bringing out the romantic side in us out and alive. While movies more or less place forth hopeless romantic plots, we fall for it, when we see our favourite on screen couples and their blazing chemistry, subconsciously helping us derive our own definition of perfect love. Below are some of the on-screen couples that have always ignited a feeling of love inside us.

1.) Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol

Of course, this pair tops the list. We may never get to witness the magic that Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol created, with their chemistry, of which, a fine example would be Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge. From the 90s, they have been the very ‘jodi’ that may have been the inspiration of many a real life love stories. Yes, Raj and Simran are the modern Romeo Juliet.

2.) Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone

Both Ranbir and Deepika are happily married to Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh respectively, yet there still exist some fans who are rooting for Ranbir and Deepika. We first spotted the pair in Bachna Ae Haseeno, and boy, did we love them? The two were also dating for a brief period of time, but had a sour break up. However, even after that, they never failed to impress us with their brilliant chemistry in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Tamasha.

3.) Anil Kapoor and Sridevi

The idea of an actor romancing his brother’s wife on-screen is well, creepy, but Anil Kapoor and late actress Sridevi, who was his brother, filmmaker Boney Kapoor’s wife, are till date remembered for their sizzling chemistry in the science fiction flick, Mr India. The famous duo went on to star in many films like Lamhe, Judaai and Roop Ki Rani Choro Ka Raja.

4.) Raj Kapoor and Nargis

In an era where romance was, but a faint idea, legendary actor director Raj Kapoor and Nargis went on to indulge in some bold romance in their movies, especially in 1955, where in the movie Shree 420, Kapoor and Nargis went ‘pyaar hua ikrar hua‘ under an umbrella on a rainy night.
