Senior Actor Naseeruddin Shah likely to be discharged on Friday, was hospitalized for treatment of Pneumonia

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah was hospitalised on Tuesday and was undergoing treatment for pneumonia and now the reports say that he is doing quite well healthwise. He is also expected to be discharged by Friday. The senior actor was admitted to the PD Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, a non-COVID-19 facility, based in Khar.

“He is doing well. He might be discharged tomorrow,” Naseeruddin Shah’s secretary Jairaj informed the PTI. Naseeruddin Shah’s wife Ratna Pathak Shah also told the PTI that he was suffering from a patch of pneumonia on his lungs and was hospitalised for the same. He was under observation and was going through the right treatment.

The 70 years old actor is an alumnus of the National School of Drama and Film and Television Institute of India and is known for his contribution to parallel cinema. His films like Masoom, Jane bhi do yaaro, Nishant and Izaajat are some of the famous critically acclaimed movies. He also has a contribution to commercial dramas such as Mohra, Sarfarosh, The Dirty Picture and Ishqiya.

The veteran actor was known for his extensive roles in theatres and dramas. He also runs his own Theater under the banner of Motley Productions. He has completed almost 46 years of his acting career. He was last seen in Amazon Prime’s original series ‘Bandish Bandits’.
