Shahid Kapoor Also Had A Batti Gul Moment, Shares An Interesting Story About It

After delivering a mind-blowing performance as Maharawal Ratan Singh in Padmaavat, Shahid Kapoor is all set to for his second release of 2018 with Batti Gul Meter Chalu. The film is a light-hearted one with a concept based on the social issue which will connect with the commoners.

Baati Gul Meter Chalu focuses on the issue of power cut and highlights the problem of electricity theft in India. The film will also star Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam. While Shraddha plays Shahid’s love interest, Yami plays a lawyer in the film. Divyendu Sharma will be also seen in the flick.

In his recent media interaction, while promoting the film, Shahid revealed the reason behind signing the film. Many not know that Shahid too has faced this kind of issue during his teens and recollecting those time, Shahid said, “Actually, it is a little sad story. For six months, I had stayed in these houses which had those asbestos roofs. I had that time in life for six months and we had to live there. And there would be power cuts. In the afternoon, it is used to be so hot that we used to be sitting in the house sweating. That is a very strong memory of that time. It was obviously before I became an actor. I was 17 and was living with my mother.”

Well, it’s sad to hear that many people across the nation are facing such an issue even today.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu is directed by Toilet: Ek Prem Katha director Sree Narayan Singh. The film is all set to hit the theatres on 21st September.

Shahid’s personal and professional life are doing all good. The actor was recently blessed with a baby boy whom he named Zain Kapoor. Shahid is already a doting father of a cute baby girl Misha Kapoor.
