Shahid Kapoor is currently making the most of his life. His family is now complete as he has welcomed his second child recently. Moreover, he is waiting for the release of his upcoming film Batti Gil Meter Chalu. Shahid is into the Bollywood industry for last 15 years and has given several lovely films. He worked in films like Ishq Vishk, Dil Maange More, Jab We met, Vivaah etc which gave him the image of chocolate boy. However, he looked out for several other roles so that he doesn’t get stereotyped as Chocolate Boy. He has done versatile roles in Haider, Padmaavat, Udta Punjab and Kaminey in order to prove his versatility.

Speaking about breaking his stereotyped image, he said, “I have always tried to get good and versatile roles. I wanted to show my versatility. But nobody used to offer me such scripts. They used to think that I am only suitable for chocolate boy and college student roles. There were no other options.”

He further said, “It’s been 15 years since I have been working in the industry and after much hard work, now I am being offered diverse roles.”

Shahid who was last seen playing Maharaja Ratan Singh in Padmaavat says, “It’s been a long journey and I have made a lot of effort. Today, I feel very fortunate that people also think of me as an actor who plays a variety of characters.

Speaking about his role in Batti Gul Meter Chalu, he said, “It is diametrically opposite to what I played in Padmaavat. Sushil Kumar Pant, my character, has verbal diarrhea. He is completely immoral and has no values.”

Batti Gul Meter Chalu also stars Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam. It is slated for 21 September release.

Talking about his personal life, he is currently on paternity break to look after his family. He has named his boy boy Zain Kapoor.
