Shahid Kapoor to undergo physical transformation for “Karna,” set to release in 2022

Initially, there was a time when the only place B-town stars could be seen in used to be theatres, however, this year Pandemic has changed hell lot of things and one of them is vacillating the stars from theatres to Digital Space. Adding up to the queue; Shahid Kapoor, the Padmavat actor, who last showed up in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh is all set for his OTT debut. The web show is being piloted by filmmaker duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. fondly referred to as Raj & DK. Well, the latest reports suggest that the actor has now signed his next film with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who has super hit films like Rang De Basanti and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag to his credit. The project is an adaptation of Mahabharata which will be told from the perspective of ‘Karna.’ 

In a report shared by Pinkvilla, a source reported, “Shahid has liked the script and is looking forward to playing ‘Karna’ on screen. It will be a mythological drama and will roll in early 2022. For now, the makers are planning for a 2023 release. Rakeysh, Ronnie (Screwvala, producer), and Shahid have envisioned shooting the film on a large scale, and a lot of prep will go in before they start shooting for the film next year. Besides the other prep, Shahid will also undergo a physical transformation to look the part.” 

 

Reports about this project began doing the rounds in January. Shahid has always left a mark on the audience with his performances and now with his upcoming project he’s all set to place the digital space on fire with his jaw-dropping performance.
