Shantanu Maheshwari, an actor and a great choreographer is on seventh heaven right now. There is no reason he shouldn’t be, as he and his dance crew have achieved a milestone. Desi Hoppers have won the World of Dance Global Visual Dance Competition. As the announcement was made, the actor – choreographer couldn’t contain his excitement. Recently, in an interaction, Shantanu opened up about the same. He in fact explained how the win was surprising for the whole crew.
Shantanu mentioned how they didn’t actually made the video for the competition. While talking about it, he said that World Of Dance asked them to make a video so they did. Shantanu said that they did the best they could in the current scenario, and was really happy to have won the competition.
Shantanu further added how they created this video as a medium to pay their respect to World Of Dance. And the crew was glad that they took it. Shantanu explained that they didn’t send the video as a part of competition and thus the win was surprising. He also added that it motivating to see your efforts being appreciated on a global platform.
Shantanu talked about all the challenges they faced as they had to film the video amid the on going lockdown. Shantanu and his ‘Dil Dosti Dance (D3)’ co-star Macedon Dmello directed the video. And the video was filmed in two days. Shantanu explained that conceptualising the video was the first challenge and they had to practice virtually.
Furthermore, he added that finding people who were ready to get on board at no cost was difficult as well. Shantanu explained that when they found the location, on the outskirts of Mumbai they weren’t sure about travelling. So, they had to find everything they could about travelling restrictions. In fact, even when they left, they weren’t sure if they would be able to film.
