There is no denying the fact that no matter how long you’ve come along from your college, it always holds a special place in your heart. The bliss and happiness, the adventure and rush, the roller coaster of emotions during those years is unbeatable. One always holds on to the experiences and lessons learned through the years of college.
Along with all this, the part that actually leaves a mark on one’s life is the time you just hang out with your friends and roommates in hostel and all those late night sneak outs. Looks like Sharman Joshi is one of us, and really misses his college days. In a recent interview, Sharman mentioned re-living his college days while working in ‘3 Idiots’
While talking in an interview, actor Sharman Joshi said that he has done a lot of films, but 3 Idiots has to be his favourite. He said that he really likes his character Raju Rastogi, and has learnt a lot from him. Sharman said that the role taught him how to find a way and take a chance after losing yourself in chaos.
Sharman further added how he and R. Madhavan used to interact with college hostel students at IIM, where most of the filming was done. Any time Aamir and Rajkumar Hirani were busy, Sharman and Madhavan would go and gel with hostelers, having coffee, playing tennis, etc.
The movie 3 Idiots was based on the novel “Five Point Someone” written by Chetan Bhagat and was a blockbuster of the year 2009. It had Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, R. Madhavan, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani and Omi Vaidya in pivotal roles. The story revolves around three engineering students and their time in college. The movie also draws attention towards the pressure that Indian education system puts on its students.
