Our country has been facing a national crisis, responding to which many big names came forward to help in form of oxygen, medical equipments, vaccine doses, food and funds for those who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The mother-daughter duo have came forward to raise funds for charity by auctioning their personal items in a virtual charity event. Soha Ali Khan says, “The past year has made me value my loved ones and sharpened my perspective about what’s important in life.”
Soha Ali Khan and Sharmila Tagore join hands for a charity event, the duo have shared their personal closets for a pop-up charity sale for animal care. Soha Ali Khan explained, “Even though we are home-bound, we can all find ways to contribute. Clearing our closets is a concrete way to help raise funds. This is also our bit for environmental conservation. Proceeds from the sale will go to the Pataudi Trust and World For All — an NGO whose work for animal welfare through the pandemic has been admirable.”
“Apart from proceeds generating funds for charities, when people buy pre-loved pieces over newly manufactured ones, it is beneficial for the environment. Our combined pieces would save about 8,46,527.92 litres of water and 2,070.68 kg of carbon.” said Sharmila Tagore, the estimates will be calculated by using the environmental footprint calculator.
The mother-daughter duo would be auctioning a variety of brands from their closet like, Armani, Pashmina, to cocktail dresses and fun casuals. The wardrobe would be available and up for grabs on Salt Scout.
