Sherlyn Chopra had filed an anticipatory bail as she feared arrest in the ongoing investigation of the adult film racket case, but her plea has got rejected. The Mumbai Sessions court has denied Sherlyn’s anticipatory bail plea in the pornography-related case involving businessman and actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra.

Sherlyn has given her statement to the Property Cell of the Mumbai Police Crime Branch while Raj Kundra has been currently sent to police custody for 14 days. In April 2021, as per the reports, the actress had filed an FIR against Raj Kundra for sexual assault and has been booked under section 376 of Indian Penal Code r/w section 384, 415, 420, 504 and 506, 354 (a) (b) (d), 509, of Indian Penal Code, 67, 67 (A), of Information Technology Act 2008, sec 3 & 4 of Indecent Representation of Women Act 1986.

The actress revealed in her complaint that they had a business meeting in the early 2019 and on March 27, 2019 and she alleged that Raj came unannounced at her house because of a heated argument over a text. She said that even though she had resisted, Raj started kissing her. Reportedly, Sherlyn has also said that she said to Raj that she doesn’t want to get involved with a married man and Raj responded to it by saying that his relationship with Shilpa was complicated.

The police also raided Raj and Shilpa’s Juhu bungalow. When police interrogated Shilpa, she maintained that Raj is not involved in the case.

Shilpa and Raj are facing a monetary penalty apart from the pornography-related case. Viaan Industries Ltd has been fined a monetary penalty by the markets regulator SEBI for disclosure lapses and consequent violation of insider trading norms. Shilpa and Raj, who are the promoters of Viaan Industries, have been imposed with a fine of Rs 3 lakh as per the SEBI order.
