Shilpa Shetty’s ‘Spinach Dal’ recipe is super healthy and perfect for Dal lovers

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty is a synonym to the word ‘fitness’. Her toned body and curves even in her 40’s give major fitness goals to all of us. Not just a fitness freak, she is additionally a very good cook and loves to prepare and share healthy meals with her ardent fans. 

Recently, she took to her Instagram account and shared a healthy recipe for ‘Spinach Dal’. The actress stated, ” Dal is a part of our regular diet and it is loved by almost everyone. Dal can have numerous variations, this week it is, Spinach Dal. It is, in fact, a complete meal or if u want it can be eaten with steamed rice or with Chapatis.”  She even added the nutritional benefits of Spinach Dal, as it can fulfill the daily need of iron, protein, Vitamin K and folate in a person’s body.

Here’s the recipe of ‘Spinach Dal’:


First, we need to take 1 cup of Toor dal, add three cups of water, hinge as per the quantity and 3/4 tsp of turmeric powder and cook it.

For the Tadka we need:

1tbsp – Ghee,1tsp – Mustard seeds,1tsp – Cumin seeds, 8-10 no – Curry leaves, 2 no – Green chilies,1 no – Onion, finely slashed, 1tbsp – Ginger with garlic, 1/2tsp – Turmeric powder, 1/2tsp – Chili powder, 1/2tsp – Garam masala, 1 cup – Spinach, finely chopped and salt according to taste and Coriander leaves

Take a pan, pour some oil and add the above ingredients except garam masala, coriander leaves, spinach, and salt. Mix everything together and pour the cooked dal into the pan. After that, add some water, garam masala, salt according, coriander leaves and spinach in the mixture and stir it.
