Sharddha Kapoor is coming up with a horror-comedy ‘Stree’ alongside Rajkumar Rao. The duo are currently busy promoting the film which will release on August 31. During the interaction with media, she also talked about her next project which is the biopic of Badminton Champion Saina Nehwal. The shooting of the much anticipated film will finally begin from next month.
While getting candid about the role, Shraddha accepted that she is not well-versed with the game and it requires a lot of practice and preparation to play the role. Because of this, the film is taking time to go on the floors.
The actress said that she is still not ready to play the role. She said, “I am also saying that I am not ready right now as well, and I will still take more time. That is why we are shooting the non-badminton scenes from the next month and the badminton portions will be shot when I am ready. I think that’s the only way to do it because it’s a very big responsibility in my hands that I should try to play as well as I can. Of course, I cannot become a pro in one year, it’s not possible, but I would try my best to be as good as the shots demand. So that’s what I am working on and we will get there. As long as it takes I am going to be training for it.”
The talks of Saina’s biopic is going on from last one year. It is also reported that Shraddha is training directly under Saina to get into the character.
Saina Nehwal is India’s best Badminton Player. She is the first Indian Badminton Player to win Olympic Medal. She also won a gold medal at recently held Commonwealth Games. In 2016, she was awarded Padma Bhushan by the Government of India. She was also honoured with Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and Arjun Award.
