Bollywood Singer Shreya Ghoshal is celebrating her Nineteen Years in Music Industry today. The melodious singer thanked the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali by sharing some pictures from her debut film.
Shreya Ghoshal has debuted in Bollywood with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Devdas’. The film was released in the year 2002 and has completed Nineteen years today. With the anniversary of the film, the singer is also celebrating her journey in the industry.
While sharing some pictures on Twitter, the ‘Bairi Piya’ singer tweeted, “19 years ago on this day I made my debut in Hindi Films in the iconic film #Devdas It’s still vivid in my memories of the magical years of the making of the music. Always grateful to #SanjayLeelaBhansali sir for believing in that 16 year old girl and my parents for being there days and nights with me to make me into what I am today.’

Shreya Ghoshal got her first national award for best playback singer from her debut song ‘Bairi Piya’ of the film. The film stars Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit and Jacky Shroff in lead. When the film was released, it created havoc on box office and among the critics. The music album of the film was also a huge hit.
Devdas was inspired from 1955 released Hindi film of the same name of Legendary Dilip Kumar. However, both of these films were originally inspired from a noted bengali writer Sharatchand Chattopadhyay ‘s novel of the same name. Shreya also paid her tribute to Veteran actor Dilip Kumar who has recently took his last breath on July 7.
