Badguys beware, Sidharth Malhotra, is the new cop in town and he means business. The Bollywood heartthrob, who most newly starred in the hit war film ‘Shershaah’, will be back in uniform for filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s digital venture that will expand his cop universe.
The eight-part high-octane action series marks the director’s digital debut, while Sidharth will take on a never-before-seen avatar of a cop hero. The fiction series proudly pays an epic to the selfless service, unconditional commitment and fierce patriotism of our police officers across the country, who put everything on the line in their call of duty.
Titled ‘Indian Police Force’, the show strives to set a new bar for action content arising from India for audiences worldwide. With a global release, viewers in 240 countries and territories will experience an immersive cop universe story coming from India and rooted in Indian values.
Opening up about this exciting new project, Rohit Shetty said that the Indian Police Force is a very special one for him and he has been working on it for years. He’s delighted to be collaborating with Amazon Prime Video to breathe life into this story which will transcend geographies and linguistic barriers, providing him with an opportunity to showcase the same to audiences worldwide. The project is reported to have Shetty serving as its showrunner and will be directed by Sushwanth Prakash.
Rohit Shetty’s cop universe includes films like the ‘Singham’ franchise, headlined by Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh-starrer ‘Simmba’ and ‘Sooryavanshi’, which starred Akshay Kumar.
