The Miss World beauty pageant is one show ever which nobody wants to miss and it is the most widely watch ever across the world. Beautiful and confident girls participate in this pageant representing several countries and fought hard for the crown. These beauty contests not only encourage beauty but has to be socially responsible, talented, and should be friendly so whenever it comes to talk and represent something, she comes up confidently. It wants beauty with brains who whom equality is everything without being partial. One has to spend a year with the Miss World Foundation spreading awareness about many social causes. Six times, this prestigious title is won by an Indian and this year Manushi Chhillar made India Proud by bringing it back after 17 years to the bay.
Last our global icon, Priyanka Chopra won this title and after years Manushi from Haryana defeating 108 contestants from across the world bagged the title to the homeland. The pageant was held in Sanya City Arena in China. In the pageant, she was awarded two other awards – winner of the Head to Head Challenge and the Beauty with a Purpose title.

1966 Miss World- Reita Faria
Reita is the first lady who won the first Miss World title for India and it has been 51 years since she defeated 65 other contestants from across the world. Later the lady didn’t choose modelling or acting as her career instead she opted for a doctorate degree and serve people. She also judged many beauty pageants.
1994 Miss World- Aishwarya Rai (Bachchan now)
It took 28 years to bring back the crown to India after Reita and the blue-eyed girl is the one who bought it back and why not? Aishwarya is one strikingly beautiful girl in 1994’s contest who was pursuing architecture. It was the same year when Sushmita Sen become Miss Universe. Rai choose to model after this pageant and become successful within one year and also established her in Bollywood where people loved her so much. She is the only Indian actress who is jury panel at the Cannes Film Festival. Also, the lady is currently one of the Goodwill Ambassadors for the Joint United Nations Programme.
1997 Miss World- Diana Hayden
Diana is the third one who became the Miss World representing India. She is a successful stage artist and completed her studies at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in the UK. She also appeared in a reality show Bigg Boss and later published her book A Beautiful Guide.
1999 Miss World- Yukta Mookhey
Yukta won the crown with this title after 2 years of Diana and put her feet in the acting world starring in various Tamil films. Her filmy career is short lived but she moves forward by lending her voice to organ donation’s social cause and many others. A few years back, she joined BJP.
2000 Miss World- Priyanka Chopra
In the glorious year after 1999, an Indian Miss World passed her crown to next Indian who is Priyanka Chopra. Her international success is witnessed by all us. She is an actor, producer, tech investor, mass influencer, philanthropist, and singer. In short, our desi girl is a global icon who is making India proud of her. She comes in the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women in 2017 listed by the Forbes Magazine.
And 2017’s Manushi Chhillar who is pursuing medical studies now and very actively giving her voice to many social causes.
