Is Sonu Sood under investigation by IT dept for the amount of around Rs 20 crore?

Sonu Sood has been in headlines for coming forward to help the needy during the pandemic. He has helped many people and made them reach their destination. The actor has now been in headlines as an investigation is going to take place regarding Rs 20 crore. According to the Times Of India reports, the non-profit organisation labeled under the actor Sonu Sood’s name, Sood Charity Foundation, managed to help in the pandemic and funded ₹ 18 crore till April this year, out of which ₹ 1.9 crore has been spent on relief work and the balance ₹ 17 crore has been lying unused in the non-profit’s bank account.

The foundation also alleged to manage Rs. 2.1 crores funded by donors outside India violating the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act that keeps a tab on these transactions. Raids were conducted at the actors property in Mumbai, Lucknow, Kanpur, Jaipur, Gurugram and Delhi. The authorities spoke about the case. Have a look at the tweets here:

Sonu Sood was last seen in the music video Tum Toh There Pardesi opposite Niddhi Agerwal. The actor was last seen in the film Simmba playing the character of the villain in the Rohit Shetty Film. The investigation in this case is in process and there is no one taken into custody till now. The actor has many upcoming projects but they aren’t titled as a result they are not official.
